Organic Minced LAMB!

Almost 2 weeks, TOto is getting used to the house and the environment.
BUT he still doesn't like spending time in the Balcony!
WHY? Hmmmmmmmm ...

I have always wanted to add some 'REAL' food into TOto's diet. Just some meat topping in his usual kibbles, but Hubs insist that TOto must eat Organic and only LAMB! And we seldom see minced lamb in the grocery stores here.

皇天不负苦心人, we finally find Minced Lamb meat and it is ORGANIC!
NO ADDED HORMONES
NO ANTIBIOTICS
Selling @ US$8.49/lb
Our recent minced pork purchase is on 'promotion' and only US$0.99/lb! You see how much Daddeee is willing to SPEND on TOto! So stingy with mammeee but when it comes to TOto everything has to be the best, no expense is spared.
The steamer did provide a plastic bowl but I used my Lock&lock Silby Ceramic Plate.
My brand new electric steamer!
The 1lb minced lamb seems to SHRINK ALOT!
I rearrange them in my aluminum baking cups.
ONLY 11 and these cups are SMALL!

And keep them in Lock&lock Freezer Lock to freeze them for later use!
TOto never leave my sight for ONE MOMENT!
The whole house smells so LAMBY!
Even after I clean up, his eyes refused to leave the steamer!
He still sat there staring and sniffing, hahahaha ...

    1. TOto is crazy about them. Steam until the lamb smell comes out, he already start sniffing about the house! I first time steam lamb so he never smell before bah. Haha so funny!

My husband very particular about his food la. He says human eat such non-organic meat also so many sickness liao, dog so small size cannot take them! I don't want to argue with him, whatever he says.

Then westie got chicken allergy mah. We read online got people says PORK give dogs worms or what. The rest of the meat also not much info. For me I think fresh cook meat no matter what would be so much better than kibbles. Sometimes I cook those Pork bone broth and I just pluck the leftover meat on the bones my husband also kao peh me. Then if TOto scratch abit nia, he suspect is the pork I gave him already!

So when I see this ORGANIC MINCED LAMB, my husband no EXCUSE lor! No matter how ex he have to buy! Maybe we start with the better meat and slowly convert. At least make sure he didn't have any allergy to anything. Have to slowly convince my husband la.

    2. hehe i find that guys do care more about their dogs sometimes. i went out with this couple who had a 4-month-old puppy and the girl was unwilling to spend on her while the bf wanted to buy lots of stuff!

westies prone to allergies doesn't mean TOto is allergic leh. pork in US/UK/Aus is fine, free from trichinosis. worms also don't make a dog scratch leh. haha i try not to buy organic for them, not that i can afford it anyway. i'd rather spend my money on pasture-fed meats. organic is not really good for them... but that's my opinion lah :) everyone's entitled to their own opinions. if i were in texas i'll be hitting up the venison!

anyway great start! fresh is infinitely better than kibble imo :)

    3. We want to prevent the possibilities, allergies come liao then prevent very troublesome le. Just heard a couple want to give up their 4yr old westie becos he has allergy and need weekly injection, then the couple has 2 kids want to give the dog up. SO sad...

I think my husband is more worried about the 'Hormones' and the 'antibiotic' bah. I not as worried, like u say as long as fresh meat better than kibbles but then my husband alot of his own reasons so suan le ...

Haha i myself use those toothpaste for sensitive gum about 4+ he says VERY EXPENSIVE. TOto's toothpaste about USD7 bucks lor and then very little nia. IDIOT! Hahaha ~

    4. that doesn't sound right? if that couple's westie has a food-related allergy (which is pretty rare tbh), removing the food item will stop that allergic reaction. for eg say panda is allergic to beef, and has rashes on it. once i stop giving him beef he will not display rashes anymore. i have not heard of any injection that can cure or help food allergies, or even contact allergies. in fact i give panpo a wide variety of meats to help prevent allergies, as weird as it sounds. when polar was on kibble, he was scratching and red where his belly was. after changing his diet it was gone. still not sure if it was food or contact allergy, but polar can eat any type of meat now.

hmm not sure about US, but in australia it's been outlawed to give hormone jabs to chickens since the 1980s. i'd be more concerned here in singapore, so i just don't buy chicken from msia.

how is TOto's teeth?? must be sparkling white thanks to your diligence~ i stopped using doggy toothpaste after i saw the ingredients in it. anyway it's just there for the flavour and panpo wouldn't stop licking it and not open their mouths!

    6. I am not sure what type of allergy their westie hv.

I am lucky so far TOto still ok with kibbles. But there are other reason we cannot switch mainly because we usually goes back to SG for 1mth every year so if TOto is look after by other people we scared it will be too troublesome if TOto eat other things other than kibbles.

TOto's teeth was not clean le that why we clean it so religiously! Last year after he comes back from Hub's colleague place, his back teeth got plague at the gum and turns yellowish. Haiz ...

    7. sigh, given recent events on how my parents fed them this time i think when i go to the states i will also get them to feed kibble. it's ok one la, they will switch quite easily to eating whatever. perhaps it's better to rotate kibble protein sources because prolonged intake of a certain protein might trigger intolerances. have you tried the dehydrated dry food like ziwipeak?

panpo have bad teeth now too! after i came back from australia i noticed it. must be the work of the kibble! so darn angry. just got a free electric toothbrush that i am going to try on them tomorrow. mikan ate raw when i went to aus and she has the best diet and best teeth!

    8. Ya we try to rotate but TOto sometimes very picky! Usually we mix his kibbles; The orijen fish is fixed, we rotate the 2nd source but he damn picky. You see him picking out all the wellness (either lamb or duck) and only eating the Orijen fish! Yap we add ziwipeak and stella&chewy freeze dried duck!

You are coming to USA for holidays? Or further studies hahaha!

Me and Hub worrywarts la, you know when friends are helping us we try to make it as easy for him as possible. If suddenly change at that point, we scared TOto cannot adapt then will diarrhea or whatever. Or refused to eat, hahaha.

In the past we brush 2x or 3x a week, now got to brush everyday if not Hub refused to let me sleep ar!

  2. Toto is too cute! I have dogs too but they are in Singapore :( One is a Maltese & one is a Cocker Spaniel. My dogs have sensitive skin too so I'm also very particular about the food we feed them. Dog food is really ex, they eat more expensive food than us!
