The Mazie's Mission 2nd Annual 48 Hour Pet Adopt-a-Thon

We were here last year to support this event too, but we came @ midnight and the pictures I had was bad so I didn't post up anything. But we had some good photographs this year ...

Love this 'Shadow' photograph of the family!
Another breezy, cold day ~
There is a small dog run near the Adoption event.
We see some families bringing out some of the dogs they are adopting to either bond with them or they are there to observe whether the to-be-adopted dog can 'bond' with the existing dog that they already have. I find that such a great either than just 'finger-point' out the dog you want from a small kennel.

These dogs will be in their most natural state of mind in a open, natural ground.
When we are nearing the event, TOto gets very distressed by all the barkings and all the noise made by a LIVE BAND.
A little girl taking her time, selecting her puppy for Christmas?
A 8yr old Chihuahua napping peacefully, in the midst of all the rowdiness and the crowd!
I really Salute all these Volunteers that helps out with the events for 48hours!
And these few days has been REALLY COLD at night ...

Look at this White Lab, I suspect TOto thinks he looks like that; a Fierce BIG white Lab!
Saw these 2 cute terrier!
They are soooooooooooooo cute, I wonder why no one has spotted them!
@ the end of the event 75 dogs was rescued.
We have to go home only after a short walk, because TOto is very distress with all the noises and barkings made by all the dogs! He is such a useless bum, till now we still cannot understand why the sudden change in temperament when in noisy environment.

What happen?

@ Huffhines Art Trails

A long list of events happening all around DFW and we chosen one that is a non-doggies event because it is a short drive away.

The weather is GREAT!
The Huffhines art's event is not as crowded as some Art's event we had attended.
Once we are in, we realised 'LIVEBAND'!
BAD News for TOto ...
Met a few doggie buddies at the event ...

Alot of Fall's decor everywhere ...
TOto is too fidgety to take a good photograph!

Daddeee wanted some snacks and hoping to sit down, so that TOto has a chance to calm his nerves down! Daddeee wanted to order fried guacamole but it was sold out ...

And he decide to have Crepe instead.

He ordered a Chicken Basil wrap for USD8.00!
TOto waiting patiently waiting inbetween us!

It was GOOD!
TOto indeed calms down alot and we continue to walk through the Art Festival.
When TOto is calmer, he finally agrees to take some photographers with us!

And TOto decides to interact with the scarecrow on the BENCH!
Slowly we brought TOto nearer to the stage hoping it can 'cure' his Live band's fear!
He can tolerate the Live band but not for long ...

We left shortly ...
TOto was glad we left the noise and the crowd ...
Not bad of a day for TOto ...

Day 2 into Weaving ...

You never realised how 'dumb' westies are when you start teaching them new tricks and then remember how many repeitions you have to do it before they 'get' it!

This is Day 002 into his 'Weaving' training.
Luckily TOto can follow simple 'Finger' pointing instruction, so on the first day we have to keep repeating with finger pointing 'left', 'right' ,'left', 'right'. Without the finger cue, he will walk off , missed poles or just look at us with this 'blur' look!

It is so much better on the 2nd day, and sometimes he can 'weave' without us giving any 'prompts'! Hopefully the next class at home, will be so much better. But we realised TOto needs at least 3 days of repeitition before he 'understand' any new tricks! 'Understanding' doesn't mean he will do on cue, but his body will respond when cued but not correctly all the time.

Simple 'Back up' took 3 days, let see how long he needs to learn to Weave.

Wonder Pet Expo Dallas

Dallas Market Center
2100 Stemmons Fwy
Dallas, TX 75207
(214) 655-6100

We managed to arrive the Expo at about 1pm, there wasn't alot of people maybe because the area is so much bigger than the last pet expo we went to. It was clean, and smells good too. There wasn't any bad doggy smell! We signed up, and goes right in; easy-peasy.

Performance area
This german shepherd must be thinking,"What the hell is that white doggie doing a baby stroller!???"!
Like, "HUH"!?
A Rowlette school promoting Agility.
TOto is scared of the mascot!
A chihuahua waiting to be rescued.
A puppy black lab being rescued and *clap clap* by a group of supporters!
TOto goes in for his shot of fame at agility, and he did quite well!
But we hadn't trained him with weaving, but sooooon!

For most of the event he is in the stroller or in MY ARM!
So luckily I INSISTED on bringing the stroller.
Such a scaredy cat!!
And TOto meets Preston from PrestonSpeaks.com!
He is so tiny, TOto looks huge standing beside him.

Canine massage, $1/minute.

TOto finally SMILE when we reach the CAR!
Hmmmpppffhhh!
Useless BUM!
