Boxing day at Petsmart Daycamp!

The weather is now so cold, it is almost impossible to bring TOto to a dogpark so we brought him to Petsmart Daycamp again on Sunday. Firstly for TOto to play and maintain a healthy weight and mind. Secondly so we can do some groceries and shopping!

We fetch him around 6.30pm and he is 乖乖 sleeping in the Petsmart Crate. Usually their morning play hours are 8am - 12pm, and afternoon session is 1pm - 5pm. But we can bring the dogs in as early as 7am and come fetch them as late as the 'Closing' hours of the store. The hours that they are not playing, they are usually crated. Petsmart has more flexible hours as compare to alot of Doggie Daycamp out there. But the one bad thing is, I find their play area too small for Toto to really RUN about. But at least his mind is 'stimulated' with the play with his Doggie friends!

Kuranda Imported Aluminum Dog Bed - Medium

Our X'mas gift to Toto, stated as a Offshore copies so it is about 50% cheaper. At 50% still not cheap :( about US$60.00!! Our roll out bed cost us about US$150.00 for the both of us. Hopefully he will want to use it. I guess this is good for him during warmer days, this bed will be so much cooler than snuggling with us on the bed! We outbid at the very last 2minutes at $2.00 from the first bidder. Hahahaha ~

Toto and hubs love to ACT

It seems impossible but then we did it hahaha.
This is damn funny!
Hubs taught TOto how to 'STOP' at any point of time in play! So when doing anything, rough playing, chewing, chase ball etc. The command stop, means he cannot move!!

And we taught of this and join with 'bang' to come up with this shot!!

Peanut Butter and Banana Dog Biscuits with Step by Step Pictures!

Peanut Butter and Banana Dog Biscuits

Ingredients
1 egg
1/3 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup mashed banana 1 Mashed Banana
1 tablespoon honey 1 teaspoon Honey
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup wheat germ (Rolled oats)
1 egg white, lightly beaten, for brushing (Step omitted)
Added 2 tsp of flaxseed

Directions
1.Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking sheet.
2.Stir together the egg, peanut butter, banana, and honey in a medium bowl; blend thoroughly. Stir in the flour and wheat germ; mix well. Turn dough out onto a floured board and roll to 1/4 inch thick. Cut into desired shapes with a cookie cutter, place on prepared baking sheet, and brush tops with egg white.
3.Bake biscuits in preheated oven until dried and golden brown, about 30 minutes, depending on size. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack.

Found this recipe online which is very close to what I have in my fridge!

All mashed up and KNEAD until everything is one big lump!

Rolled flat, and this time round, I just place the dough on a pizza pan and start using a pizza cutter to ROLL cut the shaped. SO MUCH easier and I save SO MUCH time!! The last time, I used the tiny tiny cookie cutter till my finger swollen, and took up so much of my time, and I have to RE-roll the dough SO MANY TIMES!

2 minutes, all done and ready for the oven!

Easy!

Some parts are still connected but I just have to snapped it off!

This recipe calls for 1 cup of wheat flour, and is so much easier to manage than the previous recipe. And such recipes are fresh so the shelf life is shorter. So this recipe is more suitable for smaller dogs like Toto, they can snack and still be healthy and still can keep to their 'healthy' weight range!

Grouchy when SLEEPY!

A rare good day today and I can open up my Patio door the whole day and this is how Toto lounge about the whole day sleeping and enjoying the Blue blue blue sky and the gentle breeze that is blowing in right at his face...

Dogs are actually alot like children and very human liked in behaviour. When Toto is tired, sometimes he still don't want to go to sleep, likes kids they still want to play and just don't want to get to bed. If we don't play with him, he will ROAM in and ROAM out, here and there! And he gets very grouchy, ESPECIALLY when he is very tired, and he will bark at the slightest noise from the patio!! The more tired he is, the more he don't want to sleep, the GROUCHIER he get and the louder the bark!

This is the Terror in the shadow ...

 

So when he barks alot, it is just because he is very grouchy! And we have to FORCE him to sleep with us on the bed to prevent 'noises' of the floor to get to him! Anyway nowadays he will just sleep in between me and hub. Even if he 'act' like he is sleeping on the floor; when me and hub fell asleep he will jump up onto the bed very gently to prevent waking us up! Sneaky fellow ...

What I wait for every day ...

TOto finally tires himself out and SLEEP!

With the whining recently it is driving me crazy!

Whiny TOto, whineee whineeeeyyy whine!

Nowadays he whines for everything; for food, for walk, for attention for play, for water! I was almost driven CRAZY! He has too much 'energy', we need to bring him out to 'Drain' his energy!!!

A rare Good Winter day!

But still TOO COLD for ME. TOto is ecstatic!! There are quite many dogs that visited the park that day. Toto play with many doggy friends, amd most importantly he can RUN free! He played and ran with dogs and he play 'Fetch' with us too! He is sooooooooo unusually happy!! I love bringing Toto to the dog park but nowadays it is really TOO COLD to come!

Hopefully we have another good weekend next week!

Petsmart Report Card

Petsmart issues REPORT card for the dogs after their DAYCAMP, so cute right!!

He is always the LIFE of the party! We realised that not everydog initiate play and TOto is that dog who always initiate play with other dogs! And we hear for quite a number of other owners who claim that their dog is always unusually 'hostile' towards other dogs but is always willing to play with Toto!! TOto always manage to bring out the playful side of other dog!!

TOday is a 'Unusually' grouchy day for TOto, we wonder why! Maybe when hubby brought him down to walk and hub refused to let TOto play with another dog named Dixie!!

@ 10months old

• Toto has totally eliminate his habit to Poop and pee at home!
• He seems to be so much calmer, but on the same time still very stubborn!
• He prefer to sleep with us, and has QUIT the habit of chewing the sofa in the morning!
• He loves to stay out in the patio when hubs is not around!!
• When he see dog approaching, he has learn to go into a 'down position' and wait for the other dog to approach.
• He warrant less attention from us and is more independent.
• He loves his crate now and will go into it to sleep on his own.
• His chewing habit has diminish and at the same time he is not as curious, and so he will only bite or play with his own toy and ignoring our stuffs! He didn't even sniff out the new X'mas tree that we have put up!
• He don't allow me to handstrip him, and whine at the slightest pain! BAD~
• Toto has establish a way to communicate with us, when he want something, he will sit near it and start whining. He will start soft and get louder hahaha~ If he want to eat, it will be in the kitchen, if he wants to go patio, he will sit near the Patio door. If he wants to go out, he will sit either at our bedroom door or at our front door!

Overall he seems to have improved alot @10months old, although the improvement is small but these are good improvements!!

1st time Peanut Butter Oatmeal flaxseed Dog biscuit!

There is one word that can get TOto's attention always immediately, and that word is 'Biscuit'! Especially useful when he is outside walking and do not want to go home!!

This is the first time I have done actual COOKIE baking. So it is all 'trial and error'! So armed with a basic pictorial recipe from Dog treat Kitchen, I got myself the ingredient and here it goes ...

I added 2 teaspoon of flaxseed and half of a 1/4 cup of canola oil. Toto is a ODD dog, he doesn't really like biscuit that is TOO HARD.

Revised Ingredients:
•2 cups whole wheat flour
•1 cup rolled oats
•1/3 cup peanut butter
•1 1/4 cups hot water milk
•2 teaspoons flaxseed
•Half of a 1/4 cup of canola oil

My cookie cutter is so small, it is ALOT of pressing to do!

But we do not want to Over feed or Over indulge in Toto!

I would love to get cookie cutter in dog bone shaped but usually that shape is too big!

I threw away the first batch because it got burnt, so I have to tune down my oven's temperature but the 2nd batch look lovely. My dog biscuits looks like a batch of All natural Dog cookies that I purchase sometime ago from Farmer's market that TOto love so much! And that ain't cheap, especially things that are termed 'Home-baked'!

But overall these cookies are quite economical to prepare at home but it takes up alot of time and effort.
