TOto 10 days experience in Sembawang AVA Quarantine Station

It is really one of the longest 10 days and shortest 2 hours in our life, but TOto breezed through it. Of course there are the everyday struggles when we are going home. We wondered how long he cries and whines for us when we left ...

We had never wiped off so much tear staines from TOto eyes! He must have been crying hard for the past 10-12 days every since he started boarding the flight. Luckily TOto came back to us in one piece.

Will definitely do a piece on our experience on applying for the whole application, but now we just want to enjoy ourselves with TOto!

Bye bye Sembawang Animal Quarantine Station!

After 10 days, I think my face suffered the MOST!

The dry dirty air has caused a outbreak on MY FACE, arrrghhhh ~

We were right ON TIME and we requested to have TOto weigh; and he weighed 8.8kg!

HEY what a coincidence, released on 8/8 and weighing at 8.8kg~



Signed a document, and TOto was brought out to us in his crate on a trolley ...

NO meat, eggs and animals from Malaysia!

And he is just desperate to GET OUT!

Sembawang Animal Quarantine Station Day 10 - FINALLY!

TOto has really starts to settle down and accepted his 'schedule' here in AVA but we have to change his environment AGAIN! 

But it will be a good change, and TOto shall be with us FINALLY! 

A tough tough reunion, I am just glad everything is OVER and behind us and we are finally together again ...

Brought TOto a SMOKED Spare rib to waste some time, plus Daddeee trimmed TOto's nail nail and mammeee brushed TOto too.

TOto has gotten so used to AVA Sembawang, he treat the small dog run; HIS PERSONAL PRIVATE PROPERTY! I guess the privacy we had at the 15minutes dog run will be what ALL OF US missed when TOto leaves the Quarantine!

Sembawang Animal Quarantine Station Day 09 - ONE MORE DAY!

Had a weird dream just this morning about TOto. For some reason, TOto is never coming home, and Hubba bought me a new Black Westie/Scotty puppy. But once I brought the puppy home, it becomes a bulldog/Pittbull terrier mixed. I was devastated and keep thinking of TOto. I kept crying and crying in my dream because I know my 'new pup' will not try to understand me like what TOto used to do; tilting his head left and right ...

When we want to bring the new dog back to the petshop for an exchange, it was stated in my contract that I bought a WELSH terrier! I was like WTF? More thoughts of TOto, and starts crying again ...

The environment aka air is really dirty inside the cubicle, my face now has alot of explainable itchy bumps on my chin line! My eyes is dry and itchy and all RED from the fan. Dirty air + fan = allergy breakout! Arrghhhhhhhhh, one more day to FREEDOM!

More handstripping, more trimming ...

Daddeee shall has to cut his nail nail tomorrow and maybe a bubble shower and he is already for collection on Thursday morning 10am!

My momsie aka TOto's granny commented,"WAH why trim until so short, so ugly!" 

"Hahaha SG so warm mah, so trim as much as possible lorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr".

Warm day today!!!

But TOto looks happy ...

We realised he is the most smiley Westie that we see!

Sembawang Animal Quarantine Station Day 07 - No Visitation on SUNDAY and PUBLIC Holiday

Before TOto's release, 2 more points to note :

• TOto's Quarantine Kennel fee and transport's fee have to be paid before 7 days, after 'checked in' ($242.00) - CHECKED
• TOto's Licence application and payment done online ($14.00) - Done-ded!

TOto is ALREADY to be RELEASE!

There will be a 'or kong' of $20.00 if pay LATE!

3 more days ...

I'll be collecting TOto in another 4 days, right before all the holidayss.

Luckily TOto is collected on the 8 August, any date after that; we won't be able to visit TOto on 8 August and 9 August due to Singapore Public Holiday.

TOto will have visitors tomorrow so we gave him a rinse today!

Sembawang Animal Quarantine Station Day 04 - Face trim

I don't know whether it gets better or worst, but after each session we felt soooooooooooo drained.

The most difficult part is when we are leaving, TOto will start to 'anticipate' with JOY but when he realised he is NOT leaving with us; the scene is heartbreaking. It has become so difficult,but we still has to 'harden' our heart and LEAVE and then comes back again tomorrow knowing how everything will end.

Arggggggggggghhhhhh 6 more days!

Same day next week we will be fetching TOto HOME.

Sembawang Animal Quarantine Station Day 02 - Confirmed released 8/8

Last night at Changi Quarantine was considered to be 1st night, so today will be his 2nd day Quarantine but first night at Sembawang. We heard he was drove in this morning. When we arrived, he was ON TOP of his crate, and there was a patch of water/urine in the cubicle. There was 'poop' at the outdoor area too, and flies was hovering over it. It was a pathetic sight! TOto daren't even jump down to greet us, because the urine patch was right underneath him! We quickly get the uncle to help us clean the room up, I felt so sorry for TOto because TOto is a CLEAN FREAK!

Right after, we put down our bags, we quickly brought TOto out to the small dog run first ...

my ABCD is back!

It is really a very difficult 4 months!

Everything, every situation, every scenario just reminds me of him.

Plus because we are not there with him, the process of applying to send him back becomes doubly difficult We have to rely TOTALLY on his guardian. 

We are really grateful, he agrees to helps us unconditionally!

But we are OVER it and TOto is back here in ONE GOOD piece!

When it is really ALL OVER, I will definitely blog about my 'FULL' experience with TOto to help out others who are with the same predicament!

When we picked him up, he is dirty, smelly and very hungry!

Reunion SOON!

I hasn't seen TOto since April when we left USA, and for some 'fxxkup' reason we couldn't go back!

And we have been arranging for TOto to come back to us ever since; and it is such a long, torturing process. First of all SINGAPORE AVA regulations are written in such a way, a normal HUMAN beings won't be able to understand. And 2ndly their requirement are so strict, you think their requirements will KILL your dog! But for the sake of our precious baby we had to endure through all these torments so that we can be together as a family unit again ...

And after 2 months plus of torment, we finally see some lights ...

For some unknown reason the officer of AVA informed us that there are "non-aircon" room available for late July. From the beginning we were informed that the earliest date that will be available will be in September. SO you can imagine the 'ECSTASY' we are in when we hear that there is a available slot in July!

We visited Singapore AVA Sembawang Quarantine Station the next day, to take a look at the; hygiene, noise level, cleanliness and size of the non-aircon room. We want to make sure that TOto will be comfortable in the room to 'tolerate' Singapore weather for at least 10days!

The staffs were very friendly and is open to us visiting the Quarantine rooms. We went in and was pleasantly surprise that there isn't much noticeable odors, and the noise level were surprisingly quite low too. We visited some 'fan' kennels in the USA before, and the smell and noise level were terrible. And we realized these 'non-aircon' basic kennel has a door that can open to go outdoor (caged). So these let out the 'smell' and the 'noise', plus each 'room' has its own fan. The overall whole experience was pleasant.

Plus when we see this CUTE Husky Baby, we are convinced!

If a Husky can survive in a non-aircon room, TOto can survive ...

I KNOW HE CAN!

The 'walking' area looks clean and well maintained too.

Looking at AVA website's, we thought that we can only visit TOto for 15minutes each time.

We misunderstood the terms on their website again.

The 15 minutes mean if you walk/play with the dog OUTSIDE the room, then you are limited to only 15 minutes. But if you stayed in the room with your dog you can stay as long as the Visiting Hour is allowed. And usually it is 2 hours from 4-6pm on the weekday and 4 hours 2-6pm on a Saturday. No visiting on Sundays, Eve Public Holiday and on Public Holidays. But Collection can be done everyday!

You can bring anything to be place with you furkids, there is no restriction and 30minutes is allowed in the Grooming room! Daddeee was saying he wants to bring a PORTABLE COOLER for TOto, hahahaha ~

We contacted our Agent in the USA asap and tried to book a flight for him. And our agent mistakenly tried to book us on SQ but from our knowledge any type of TERRIER isn't allowed on SQ, not even silky terriers!

So after back and forth of calling to the USA agent & after filling up, scanning and emailing of paperwork back and forth. The whole process lasted about 4-5 hours including the waiting etc ...

TOto is booked on the Lufthansa flight and will touch down SG on the 29 July 2013 (2 months earlier than we had anticipated.) But because Lufthansa doesn't fly on a regular weekend, TOto has to fly one day earlier and be 'boarded' in frankfurt Animal Louge for 30 hours before adjoining his journey back home again ...

TOto is strong, I know he can survive all these, and come back to me.

I really REALLY REALLY miss him alot ...

Can't wait to have you in my arms again ...
